This veggie bed could be described as ‘party at the front, business at the back’ like the reverse mullet of gardens.
Glad the veggies have enough height now to hide my messy composting area tucked behind this garden.
I usually have a couple of piles of weeds and prunings waiting to be dealt with. Every so often I get out the chipper for all the sticks. Then I mix up a batch of green waste and wood mulch and anything the worms in the worm farm didn’t eat, all in the wooden box, to be regularly turned with the fork. And it composts pretty fast and well.
I’ve just restarted the compost bin, as the last lot of compost has been added to the gardens yesterday.
Growing in this garden (left to right)
– Sunchokes / Jerusalem artichokes
– yams
– broad beans
– cabbage
-broccoli
(And not sure if you can see in this pic, there are also peas, carrots, and lettuce.)
